Maa Saraswati Tour & Travels

Our little shop is number two, right there in Bahu Plaza. It is below the JDA office, which makes it pretty easy to find if you are in that part of Srinagar. We have been set up in this spot for a good bit of time now. Maa Saraswati Tour & Travels is what we call the business. It is mostly just local work, helping people get their trips and transport sorted out. The plaza gets quite busy during the middle of the day, so there is always someone popping in to ask a question or check a price. We are not fancy people. The chairs in the office have been there as long as the desk has. We mostly sit here with the radio playing in the background, waiting for the next person to walk through the door. Sometimes it is a family planning a big trip for a wedding, other times it is just someone needing a quick ride to the station. We handle the paperwork and the bookings as they come in. It is a straightforward job for us. We know the roads around Srinagar like the back of our hands. Traffic here can be a real mess, so we try to give people a heads up on when they should actually leave. We do not have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know how the business works. People like that they can just come in and talk to us directly without any fuss. It is how we have always done things.
