Up here in Doda, specifically in Bati Mohalla, things move a bit slower than the big cities. Jk World Educational Consultancy is basically run out of Mohd Aslam’s place. He is the son of Sh Gh Haider Malik, and everyone around here knows the family. We started this because students in Doda often do not know where to go for school advice. It is not a big glass building. It is just a regular home setup where we sit down and talk about colleges. Sometimes the tea stays on the table longer than the paperwork does. We try to help kids figure out their next steps after they finish their local schooling. Doda is a beautiful place but it can feel far away from everything else. Having a consultancy right here means people do not have to travel all the way to Jammu just to ask a few questions. We handle things one person at a time. It is mostly word of mouth. Someone’s cousin needs a form filled out, or a neighbor wants to know about a course, and they come to Bati Mohalla. We do not have fancy brochures or a front desk person. It is just us. The (Opc) part means it is a small operation, which suits us just fine. We keep the records and try to stay organized, even when things get busy with the local crowd. It is honest work helping the local youth get their applications sorted out.
