Jk Seafarers Welfare Association

Jk Seafarers Welfare Association is located in the H.S.R. Tower at Malik Market. It’s right on the Bye Pass Road in Channi Rama. You might know the building if you drive that way often. It’s a busy area with a lot of traffic passing by all day. We set this up at Pawanjit Kour Reen’s place because we wanted a spot where people associated with the sea could find some support, even though we are up here in Jammu. It might sound a bit strange to have a seafarers association here, but there are more of us in the region than you’d think. We are just a small group, not some big government agency. We spend our time helping folks with their documents or just giving them a place to connect when they are back home from their travels. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have much in the way of fancy furniture or high-tech gear. It is mostly just us and a few files. We try to be helpful to the families too, since their loved ones are away for so long. Life on the sea is tough, so we do what we can to make the return easier. We are just regular people who know what it’s like. If you are near Malik Market, you can usually find one of us around. We aren't doing this for the money, just to help.
