Icici Prudential Life Insurance

We are over at Jmc-406, in Vikas Lane No.1, Talab Tillo in Jammu. It’s a standard office tucked away in a lane. We have a sign outside that’s a bit faded from the sun. Inside, the walls are a plain color and we have several desks pushed up against them. We deal with life insurance policies all day long. Usually, the morning starts with us cleaning off the desks and getting the computers running. People from the Talab Tillo area walk in throughout the day. Some are in a hurry, others want to sit and talk for an hour. We have some plastic chairs for them to use. It can get quite hot in the summer, so the fan is always on its highest setting. We spend a lot of time checking ID proofs and making sure the addresses are written correctly on the forms. There is a lot of back and forth with the main office. We aren't a big team, just a few of us who know the routine well. We don't have any of that corporate talk here. We just explain the steps and help people fill out what they need to. Sometimes we get busy and the phone won't stop ringing, but most of the time it’s a steady flow of work. We like being in this part of Jammu. It feels like a real neighborhood where people actually know each other. That makes the work feel a bit more personal.
