Our office is situated in Bhagwati Nagar, right near the Amarnath Yatri Niwas in Jammu. Because of where we are, things get very busy during the pilgrimage season. We see a lot of people coming through this part of town. D K Tour & Travels has been operating out of this spot for some time. We mostly help people figure out their transport when they arrive in the city. It’s a straightforward business. We have some cars and we know the drivers who are reliable for the long mountain roads. The office itself is quite plain. We don't see the point in spending money on decorations when people just want to know if they can get a ride. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking on road conditions or talking to the mechanics. Bhagwati Nagar is a practical place to be based. It’s not in the middle of the fancy shopping districts, but it’s where the actual travel starts for many. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start taking bookings. It’s manual work, keeping track of where every vehicle is and making sure they are back in time for the next group. We don’t do anything fancy, just travel services for people passing through Jammu. It is a lot of coordination, but we have a system that works for us and the people we serve.
