Chottu Travels

If you’ve been to the railway station in Jammu, you’ve probably walked right by Shiv Market where we are. Chottu Travels is tucked in there, and it’s a pretty lively spot because of all the trains coming and going. My family has been around this area for years, and we just decided to keep things going with this travel business. It’s nothing too special, just an office with some maps and a lot of notebooks. We help people figure out their trips when they get off the train or before they hop on one. Being near the station means we see a lot of tired travelers. We just try to give them the information they need without making it complicated. Some days the heat is a bit much, but we have a fan and it works okay. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because it doesn't really matter for what we do. Most people just care about getting a seat on a bus or a car for their next stop. We’ve had all kinds of conversations with people from all over India right here in this market. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when too many people come in at once, but we manage. We aren't trying to be anything big. We just want to stay open and keep helping the folks who find their way to our door in Shiv Market.
