Chenab Silage Private Limited

Our place, Chenab Silage Private Limited, is situated at shops 5 and 6 near the Kameshwar Mandir in Akhnoor. We focus on silage, which is basically fermented feed for livestock. It’s an important thing for farmers around Jammu and Kashmir, especially when the grazing gets thin. We set up shop here because it’s a central spot where people can reach us easily. The space is filled with bags and equipment, and there is usually a bit of a smell from the silage, but you get used to it. We aren't doing anything complicated, just making sure the feed is stored right and ready for the animals. Most of our customers are locals who stop by with their trucks or tractors. We chat for a bit, load them up, and they head back to their farms. It’s a steady kind of work. We keep our records in a simple notebook and try to stay organized. Some days are quieter than others, but during the winter, things pick up a lot. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It's just us at the shop near the temple. We focus on the quality of the fodder and making sure it doesn't spoil. It’s a practical business that serves a real need for the cattle owners in this part of the country. We just try to keep things moving through the day.
