Surendra Polyclinic

Surendra Polyclinic is really easy to find if you know where the SBI Bank in Amarpur is. We are right there near it. Actually, the address says near SBI Bank twice, which is funny because that is exactly how people give directions around here. You just tell them to go to the bank and then look for us. It is a small place. We have a few rooms and a little front desk area where everything gets organized. It can get a bit crowded on Monday mornings. Everyone seems to have something going on after the weekend. The chairs are just basic plastic ones and the lighting is just regular tube lights. It’s nothing special to look at but it works for what we do. The noise from the street comes in whenever someone opens the door. You can hear the motorbikes and the people talking outside the bank. Sometimes we have to shout a little bit to be heard over the traffic. We’ve been in Amarpur for a while and we know the local rhythm. The shopkeepers next door usually stop by for a chat in the afternoon when things slow down. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It is just a few of us working here and trying to keep things organized. If the computer is slow, we just use the paper ledgers like we used to. It's a practical way to run a clinic in a place like this where things don't always go perfectly.
