We are based over in Sugauli at Avadhbihari Singh’s place. It’s easy to find if you know the village. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the local roads and the people living on them. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who care about how things are going in our neighborhood. The office is pretty basic. We have some wooden tables and a few fans to keep the air moving when it gets hot in the afternoons. Our main thing is just looking out for the families around Sugauli. People come to us when they are struggling with money or when they need a bit of advice on small things. We aren't experts in everything, but we try to help where it makes sense. Sometimes we stay late because someone came by at the last minute. It’s not a fancy corporate job. We wear normal clothes and talk like everyone else does. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone. We just want the village to be a bit better off than it was yesterday. It takes a lot of patience to do this kind of work. You have to be okay with things moving slowly. We just take it one day at a time and do what needs doing. It’s honest work and it keeps us grounded in the community where we belong.
