You’ll find our office over in Jalpaiguri, specifically care of Kakoli Roy at the Panga Sahec area. It’s a bit of a local landmark if you know the Baribahadur neighborhood. Jalpaiguri is a place where people still know their neighbors, and our office reflects that. We operate as a Nidhi company, which means a lot of our time is spent talking to the people who live right here in the area. It’s a small, practical space. We don’t have a lot of room for extra stuff, so every desk and shelf is put to good use. The paperwork can get a bit overwhelming sometimes, especially when there’s a lot of new activity, but we just take it one page at a time. The office has a very local feel to it. We don’t wear suits or anything like that; we just dress for the weather and the work. Sometimes the rain in this part of West Bengal can be really heavy, and we end up listening to it drum on the roof for hours while we count things up. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We handle the money and the records for the members, making sure everything is where it should be. We’ve been part of this community for a while now. We aren't interested in fancy talk or big promises. We just want to keep the office running and be here when someone needs to settle their business. It’s a simple way to spend the work week.
