North Sikkim Travels

Our office for North Sikkim Travels is up on the third floor of the Smaran Building. You’ll find us on Burdawan Road. It’s a bit of a climb up those stairs every morning, but you get used to it after a week or so. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or sitting at the desks trying to coordinate trips. Traveling around here can be tricky because of the roads and the weather, so we try to keep a close eye on things. Most of the guys who work here have lived in this area their whole lives. We know which routes are better during certain times of the year. The office isn't very big, just enough room for a few chairs and some maps pinned to the walls. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the traffic from Burdawan Road coming through the windows. We handle the bookings and talk to the drivers. It’s a lot of logistical work that people don't really see. We just want to make sure the vehicles are where they need to be. It’s a plain setup, nothing too modern or flashy. We prefer it that way. Just a place to do business and talk to travelers who are heading up north. We’ve been in this building for a bit now and the neighbors are alright. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It's not a complicated life, just busy.
