Our office is right across from the NJP station on NJP Station Road in Bhaktinagar. It’s a busy spot, and there’s always the sound of train whistles and people shouting for rickshaws outside our door. We’ve been here in Siliguri for quite a while now, just running things from this small space. The building isn’t much to look at, but it’s home for us during the day. We spend a lot of our time just sitting at the desks, looking at old ledgers and answering the phone when it rings. The station area is 734007, and it’s always moving, even late at night. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard we can’t even see the station entrance across the street, but we still open up every morning. We don’t have any fancy posters or big TV screens in the lobby. It’s just some wooden chairs and a table with some old newspapers on it. We know the guys who drive the taxis and the people who sell tea on the corner. It’s a simple life here, just helping folks figure out where they need to go next. Sometimes we get a bit behind on the filing, and the desk gets covered in scraps of paper and tea stains. That’s just how it is when you’re busy. We aren't a big corporation, just a few of us trying to keep things organized in this noisy part of town.
