NEELAAKASH GROWING NIDHI LIMITED

Our place is in Jalpaiguri, specifically at Madhya KR Para in the Mohitnagar area. We are set up at Shankar Dey Sarkar’s property. It is a typical North Bengal setting, with lots of greenery around and the weather changing pretty quickly. We handle the Nidhi operations from here. It is not a corporate office with a lobby or anything; it’s more like a converted space that works for what we need. We have our files organized on the shelves and a couple of desks where we do the daily work. Dealing with money and savings for the local people means we have to be careful with the details. We spend our mornings going through the previous day’s transactions. It’s a lot of manual work sometimes. In Jalpaiguri, things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We get to talk to everyone who comes in, usually over a glass of water or some tea. It is a very local affair. We don’t spend money on big ads because word of mouth works better in Mohitnagar. People know where Shankar’s place is, so they find us easily enough. We just focus on keeping the books straight and being there when the office hours start. It’s honest work and keeps us busy throughout the week. Sometimes the rain makes things slow, but we manage to get through the work.
