Fulbari Star Welfare Foundation

You can find us right by the Fulbari Market. We work out of Kamal Hasan Sarkar’s place, care of Sabet Ali Sarkar. Being so close to the market means we are always surrounded by the smells of food and the sound of people bargaining. It is a very lively place to be. We don't have a quiet office with glass doors. Instead, we are right in the middle of the chaos. People stop by all the time while they are doing their shopping. They might need help with something or just want to tell us about a problem in their street. We do a lot of different things, mostly focused on the welfare of the families living around the market. It is very hands-on and we are often out of the office more than we are in it. We don't have a big budget, so we have to be very practical with how we spend every rupee. It is honest, hard work and we often go home tired at the end of the day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big reports or fancy words. We just want to help the people we see every day at the stalls and in the shops. It is a community effort, and we are just glad to be a part of it. If you are ever at the market, you will probably see us around.
