Our place is over in Dinbazar, right in the middle of Jalpaiguri. If you know the area, you know how crowded the market gets. We share space with SOPL, so it can get a bit cramped inside when everyone is there at once. The office has that old feeling, with stacks of files and the smell of tea always in the air because someone is always making a pot. Working in West Bengal means we have to deal with the heavy rains during the monsoon, which usually slows down our construction sites. We spend those days in the office catching up on the stuff we ignored when the sun was out. We aren't much for fancy meetings or wearing suits; it's mostly just trousers and shirts that might have a bit of dust on them from a site visit. People come in to talk about land or how their house is coming along, and we just sit down and go through the details. Sometimes we have to explain why things are taking longer than they should because of a supply delay. It’s just part of the job. We've been part of this community for a long time and we like being right here in the bazar where everything is happening. It’s noisy and sometimes frustrating, but it’s our daily life and we just keep at it without making a big fuss about things.
