I have been at Deepak Engineering in the Riico Industrial Area for quite a while now. Phase-I is a busy place, mostly filled with the smell of metal and grease. Our shop at 1/12 is just a regular spot where we get to work every morning around nine. It is usually pretty loud because of the machines running, and the heat in the summer can get bad under the tin roof, but we are used to it by now. Most days involve a lot of measuring and cutting. We do not have fancy chairs or a lobby, just the work floor and a small desk for the paperwork. People usually find us because they know the area well or someone told them where we sit. It is not the kind of place you come for a coffee, you come because you need something fixed or made. We have seen a lot of businesses come and go in this part of the industrial area, but we just keep doing what we do. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a pain, but that is just how it is here. We try to keep things organized, though there is always a bit of scrap metal lying around. It is honest work, and we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the guys paid. If you are walking through Phase-I, you will probably hear us before you see the sign. It is just us here, working through the pile of orders every week.
