Nifty Stone Export

Our place, Nifty Stone Export, is situated in the 3rd Phase of the Ricco Industrial Area. It’s a dusty part of town because there is so much stone work happening all around us. We spend a lot of our time out in the yard where the slabs are kept. It’s heavy, physical work and the sun can be really brutal in the afternoons. We aren't sitting in air-conditioned offices all day. Most of the time, we are wearing work boots and checking the quality of the stone before it gets packed into containers for export. The office part is just a small room with a few chairs and a table where we sign the shipping documents. It’s simple and functional. We don't have a sign that glows at night or any fancy marketing stuff. The name Nifty Stone Export is just what’s painted on our gate. We know the local quarry owners and the guys who drive the heavy loaders. In the 3rd Phase, everyone is pretty much doing the same thing—working hard and trying to get the orders out on time. We take pride in the stone we find, but we don't talk about it in a flowery way. It’s just good material that we move from here to other places. It’s a rough environment, but it’s where we belong and it’s how we make our living. It’s not fancy, but it is real work.
