Vilas Offset

You can find us at W-19 in the A.D.D.L. section of the MIDC industrial area. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there’s always the constant sound of machinery and big trucks moving around in the background. Our shop is where we do all our printing work from morning until late evening. The air in here always smells like fresh ink and stacks of paper, which is something you get used to after your first week on the job. We have a few big offset machines that take up nearly all of the floor space. They are loud and they can be quite temperamental if they aren’t oiled and maintained just right every single day. We spend a lot of time cleaning the rollers and checking the color alignments on the proofs. It’s a very hands-on job. My clothes usually have a few blue or black ink stains on them by the time I head home. We do a lot of local work, like flyers, brochures, and various forms for the other businesses located in the estate. We aren't a big fancy marketing agency with a lobby. We are just printers who know how to run the equipment we have. Sometimes the paper jams in the feeder and we have to spend an hour taking things apart to fix it, which puts us behind on the schedule. That’s just part of the business we chose. Vilas Offset is just a small team of us working hard.
