It’s a well-known spot in the area, so most folks don't have trouble locating us. We run a chit fund here, which means we spend a lot of time organizing the monthly cycles for our members. Tembhurni is the kind of place where everyone has an opinion on how things should be run, so we hear a lot of feedback during our daily work. The bungalow provides a decent amount of space for people to gather when it’s time for the auctions or meetings. We don't have any polished corporate mission statement or anything like that hanging on the walls. We just have our registration papers and the schedules for the different groups. It gets dusty sometimes because of the road nearby, but we try to keep the place presentable. Most of our members are farmers or small shop owners from around Jalna who want a reliable way to save some cash outside of the traditional banking system. We handle the collections and make sure the payouts happen on time. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the books twice to avoid any mistakes. We enjoy the routine of it and the chance to see familiar faces every month when they come to pay their dues.
