Benkai Social Foundation

Out here in Nanded, specifically in the village of Sangvi Benak, life moves a bit differently. Benkai Social Foundation is located at House Number 23, which is right near the Hanuman Mandir. Everyone knows the temple, so we are easy to find. It’s a rural setting, so we don't have the typical office vibe you find in big cities like Mumbai or Pune. Our office is really just a part of the house where we keep our records and meet with people from the village. It’s a very social atmosphere. People drop by not just for foundation business, but to share some news or ask for advice on local matters. We deal with whatever the community needs at the time. Sometimes it's helping out with a farming issue, and other times it's organizing something for the local kids. We don't have a big staff; it's mostly just family and a few neighbors who want to help out. The air is better out here, though it gets very dusty in the dry season. We don't use fancy language or have a polished way of doing things. It’s all very direct and face-to-face. Being in Mukhed taluka means being connected to the land and the people around us. We are just trying to do our bit for Sangvi Benak. It’s a quiet life, but the work we do at House Number 23 keeps us busy enough and it feels like it matters to our friends here in the village.
