You can find Shri Om Wood Decorator out at M-68 in the M.I.D.C. area, right near the national highway. It's a handy location because the trucks can get in and out pretty easy from N.H.No.6. We do a lot of wood work here. It’s mostly sawdust and the sound of saws all day long. I started this because I always liked working with my hands. Now we have a few guys helping out. We do all kinds of wooden decorations and fittings. It’s not just big stuff; we do smaller details too. The shop is usually full of planks and half-finished frames. Sometimes the wood takes a while to arrive, which can be annoying, but that’s the way it is. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Most people just stop by the workshop or call us up. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the industrial area, just a reliable one. The floor is always covered in shavings no matter how much we sweep. We use local wood mostly. Every piece is different, so you have to pay attention to the grain. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just take a break and wait. It’s a simple life. We make things that last.
