Parshvnath Multipurpose Foundation

Our place is called Lalwani Bhavan, and you’ll find us on Pachora Road in Jamner. It’s been our base for the Parshvnath Multipurpose Foundation for a good bit now. Jamner is a smallish place compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty to do here in Jalgaon. We call it a multipurpose foundation because we don’t just stick to one thing. Life is complicated, so we try to be useful in whatever way is needed at the moment. The building at 3297/1 is pretty old, but it has a lot of character, even if the roof leaks a tiny bit when it really pours. We have a few rooms where we meet people and plan out our days. It gets quite hot in this part of Maharashtra during the summer, so we usually have the fans going full blast all day long. It isn't a fancy setup. We have some old wooden tables and chairs that have definitely seen better days. People from the nearby villages stop by quite often to talk or ask for help with different things. We try to keep the door open as much as possible. It’s just us local people working for other local people. There is no corporate ladder here. If something needs fixing or someone needs a hand, we just get to it. Sometimes we run out of tea, and that’s a tragedy, but otherwise, we manage okay. It’s a quiet life in Jalgaon, and we like it that way.
