Kartik Building Material is located right in the middle of Panchshil Nagar. If you know where the Datta Mandir Chowk is, then you’ve probably seen us around. Jalgaon Chopda can get really busy during the middle of the day, especially with all the people coming and going from the temple area. We spend a lot of our time out in the yard or near the front where the materials are kept. It gets pretty dusty, so we aren’t wearing our best clothes most of the time. There is always a lot of noise from the traffic at the chowk. We usually start the day by sweeping out the front and getting things ready for whoever might show up. Some days are really quiet and we just sit and talk about the local news or what's happening in the neighborhood. Other days, everyone seems to come at once. We don't have a big office or anything like that, just a simple place where we keep our records and talk to people. It’s a practical setup. Most of the folks who come by are from around here in Panchshil Nagar, so we know a lot of the faces. It’s just a regular job for us, keeping the supplies moving and making sure the shop stays open. The heat in Jalgaon can be something else in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. Every day is a little different depending on the crowd.
