Laxmi Ginning & Pressing Factory

Laxmi Ginning & Pressing Factory is located at Gat No. 726 on Kanalda Road in Avhane. This is a very rural area, and our business is tied directly to the land and the farmers around here. We deal with the raw cotton right after it comes from the fields. During the harvest season, the place is absolutely packed with tractors and trucks full of white cotton. It’s a very dusty job, and by the end of the day, everyone is covered in it. The ginning machines are old but they still work well if you take care of them. We spend a lot of time on maintenance because if one machine stops, the whole line slows down. Pressing the cotton into bales is the final step, and it takes some muscle to get it done right. We don't have a fancy office or any corporate bells and whistles. Our office is just a small room with a desk and some old ledgers. Most of our conversations happen outside in the yard while looking at the piles of cotton. The work is seasonal, so we are extremely busy for part of the year and then things quiet down. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s what we know. We just focus on the cotton and making sure the farmers get their loads processed fairly.
