Radha Kishan Brick Field

Out here in Village Naglamipan, life moves a bit slower than it does in the city. Our brick field is right on Sada Bada Road in the Etah district. It’s mostly farmland all around us, so we get a lot of local farmers coming by when they need to fix up an old barn or build a new room for their growing kids. We use the soil from this area, and it makes a good, heavy brick that lasts. The work is tough on the back, bending over all day in the dirt, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't have a big corporate office or a secretary answering phones. Usually, someone is just sitting on a wooden bench near the entrance waiting for customers. If we're busy at the kiln, you might have to shout a bit to get our attention over the noise. We try to keep a good supply ready before the monsoon season hits because everything has to stop once the ground gets too wet to work. It’s just a group of us working together, making sure the bricks are fired long enough to stay strong. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Etah, just a reliable one for the people living nearby. You'll find us here most days, covered in red dust and probably drinking some tea while the next batch cools.
