Our shop is at 16-C, Model House. It’s not a huge place, but we pack a lot of tools into the space we have. You walk in and it smells like metal and oil, which is exactly how a tool shop should smell. We’ve got shelves stacked high with all sorts of things. Sometimes it takes me a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but I usually know where everything is tucked away. We’ve been here for a good number of years. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My nephew helps out behind the counter when he’s not at school. We aren't trying to be one of those big box stores where nobody knows anything. If you ask about a wrench or a drill, we can actually tell you if it's worth the money or if it'll break in a week. We keep things pretty simple. The ledger is mostly hand-written because the old ways still work fine for us. Model House is a nice enough neighborhood, and our regulars know they can just stop in for a chat even if they don't need to buy anything that day. We don’t do fancy marketing or have a big sign with lights. Just the name on the door and the tools on the shelves. It’s a bit dusty in the corners, but the tools are clean and ready to go. That’s what matters at the end of the day. If the front door sticks a little, you just have to give it a firm push to get in.
