Swastik Sports Industries

Down in Nizatam Nagar, right in the Basti Nau area, is where we have Swastik Sports Industries. If you know this part of town, you know it’s the heart of the sports goods trade. We’re surrounded by other workshops and suppliers, so there’s always a lot of activity on the streets. We focus on making different types of sports equipment right here on the premises. There’s usually the sound of stitching or cutting going on in the back. It’s a practical space, not a showroom. We have stacks of raw materials in one corner and finished goods ready for packing in the other. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the items coming off the line. It's a lot of manual work and we have a small crew that’s been with us for a long time. They know their jobs well. We don't spend much time on the computer; we'd rather be on the floor making sure things are being built right. The air in Basti Nau always feels like work is happening. We sell to a lot of different people, some local and some from further away. It’s a bit dusty and the roads around Nizatam Nagar are narrow, but we manage to get our shipments out. We just keep our heads down and do the work every single day we are here.
