Sharda Sports Emporium & Trophy House

You can find us on Basti Road, right near the Jalandhar Peer. We do sports stuff and trophies. It’s a bit of an odd mix but it works for the schools around here. We have cricket bats leaning against the walls and footballs in big plastic bins. The trophies take up most of the glass cases. They get dusty quite fast, so we are always wiping them down with a cloth. Everyone wants their name engraved just right on the plate. We have a small machine for that in the corner. It makes a loud buzzing noise that we’ve grown used to. Basti Road is always busy with traffic going toward the Peer. We get a lot of students coming in after school hours. They want the cheapest grip for their bat or maybe a new whistle for gym class. We also supply the local tournaments. When there is a big match coming up in the district, we stay late to finish all the awards. It’s a lot of metal and plastic parts sitting around. Sometimes a shelf breaks because the trophies are actually heavier than they look. We don’t have a website or any of that internet stuff. People just walk in or call us on the old landline. It’s been this way for years. The shop smells a bit like leather and wood. We keep some chairs for the older folks to sit while they wait for their engraving. It’s a local spot, nothing fancy.
