Sardar Hazara Singh Sewa Foundation

Our foundation, named after Sardar Hazara Singh, is located at Plot Number 30 on Cantt Road in Jalandhar City. We are right near Dayanand Chowk in the Garha area. It is a well-known spot, though our building is quite modest. We have a small yard in front and a gate that we close at night. Inside, the rooms are filled with the stuff we need to run the place. We don't have any high-end designer furniture. Most of it is just functional and sturdy, meant to last a long time. We spend most of our time here talking to folks from the neighborhood. Jalandhar is our home, and we wanted to do something that honored the memory of Sardar Hazara Singh through service. It is not a corporate job for us. It is just what we do. We don't have a big hierarchy or fancy titles. Everyone just chips in and does what is necessary. Sometimes that means cleaning the office, and other times it means handling important paperwork. We drink a lot of tea and have long conversations about how to help the community. It is a slow and steady kind of work. We aren't in a rush to become famous or big. We just want to be a reliable place where people in Garha can come when they need a helping hand. It is simple, honest, and local. There isn't much more to it than showing up and being there for the folks on this side of Jalandhar.
