You can find us at 158-L in Model Town. Riar Amandip Singh Architect is the name on the door, and this is where all the designing happens. It’s a decent-sized space but it gets cluttered with samples of tiles, bricks, and different wood finishes. We spend our hours drawing up plans and talking to contractors on the phone. Model Town is a good spot for an office like ours because it’s central. We’ve been working from this building for years. It’s not a flashy studio with glass walls, just a regular place where work gets done. Most of the time, the radio is playing softly in the background while we measure things out. We take on all kinds of building projects, from small room additions to bigger houses. It’s a lot of staring at screens and paper. Sometimes we get frustrated when a permit takes too long, but that’s part of the job. We don't pretend to be something we aren't. We just draw houses and buildings that make sense. If you walk into 158-L, you’ll probably see us hunched over a desk. We like the process of seeing a drawing turn into a real structure. It takes patience and a lot of tea. We’re just local people who know how to put a building together on paper. The office is usually a bit chilly in the winter, so we drink a lot of hot tea while we work on the designs. We have built up a good collection of catalogs over the years and they are all we need.
