Prince Rubber Industries

Working at Prince Rubber Industries means you get used to the smell of heated rubber pretty fast. We are located at 1-12 in Dada Colony, right in the heart of the industrial area. It’s a place where things are actually made, so it’s never particularly clean or quiet. We have these big presses that run most of the day, and they give off a lot of heat. In the middle of summer, it gets really hot inside the shed, so we keep the big fans blowing all day long. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks from where we dropped heavy molds over the years. We make all sorts of rubber parts, from small gaskets to bigger pieces that people use in heavy machines. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. The team is mostly local guys from around the colony. We eat our lunch together in the small break area, usually talking about the cricket score or some local news. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us near the back machines with our sleeves rolled up. We’ve been at this for quite some time now, and we know the quirks of every machine we own. Sometimes they act up, and we have to spend half the day fixing a belt or a motor. It’s just how it goes when you’re running a factory. We just focus on getting the crates filled up.
