Padmawati Manufacturing Co.

We are tucked away in Jaina Nagar, over in the Ghas Mandi area of Basti Sheikh. It’s an older part of the city, and the streets can be a bit narrow. Padmawati Manufacturing Co. is where we make our products, and it’s usually pretty loud with the sound of tools and workers. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and everyone around here knows what we do. It’s a family-style environment where we all know each other’s names. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a fancy logo on the wall. We just have our machines and the materials we work with. The smell of the workshop is something you get used to—a mix of metal and whatever we happen to be processing that day. Ghas Mandi is a place where people work hard, and we fit right in. We take our time with each batch because we don't want to make mistakes. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps during lunch and watch the neighborhood go by. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s ours. We’ve had some tough times and some good ones, but we’re still here at the same spot. If you come by Basti Sheikh and ask for us, someone will point you in the right direction. There is a small shrine nearby where we light a lamp every evening.
