Nirdesh Kumar Goel

I’m Nirdesh Kumar Goel, and you’ll usually find me at the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar City. This place is a landmark in the 144001 area. Being a government hospital in a major city like this means it is rarely, if ever, quiet. From the moment the sun comes up, people are lining up outside. It’s a huge responsibility. I spend most of my time moving from one room to another, checking on patients and looking over charts. The building is old and shows its age in the corners and the creaky doors, but it has a lot of soul. We deal with everything from minor scrapes to very serious stuff every single day. There isn't a lot of time for sitting around or having long lunches. Most of us just grab a quick bite when we can. Working here isn't like the movies. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure we have enough supplies for the next person in line. I've spent a big chunk of my career in these hallways. You get used to the noise and the constant motion. It's just part of the job in Jalandhar. We try to help everyone who walks through the gates, regardless of who they are. It’s a tough environment but it feels right to be here. The city depends on this place, and I’m just one of the people making sure it keeps running. That’s enough about me, I suppose.
