My office is over in New Green Model Town, specifically at 104, Lane-2. It’s a residential sort of area, so it’s usually quiet enough to think. I’ve been practicing architecture here for a while now. Most of my day is spent at the drawing board or checking emails from clients and builders. It’s a small operation, just me and a few assistants. We don't have a big sign outside or a lobby. People usually just find us through word of mouth. The office is basically one large room filled with books, rolls of paper, and a few computers. I like being in this part of town because it’s easy to get to and there’s a nice park nearby for when I need a break. Designing things can be stressful when deadlines are tight, but we manage. There’s always some new building code to read or a site visit to go on. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the houses and buildings we work on are solid and functional. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due, ordering food and working through the night. It’s just part of the job. It feels more like a hobby that turned into a business over the years. We keep it simple and just focus on the drawings we have in front of us until the work is finally finished for our clients.
