Linco Traders

The most noticeable thing about working at Linco Traders is definitely the railway crossing. We are located on Aujla Road, and being that close to the tracks means the sound of the trains is basically the background music to our entire day. Whenever the crossing gate goes down, everything sort of stops for a few minutes. You see the line of cars and bikes waiting, and we usually just take that moment to grab a glass of water or finish a conversation. Our shop isn't anything special to look at. It’s got a heavy door and a lot of shelves that are mostly full of whatever we’re trading that week. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to the drivers who drop things off. The dust from the road is a bit of a constant battle, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have a big staff, so whoever is closest to the door is the one who helps the customers. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. Aujla Road can be a bit bumpy, and sometimes the rain makes the puddles outside quite deep, but we stay dry inside. It’s a decent place to spend the day, even with the noise from the trains every hour. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the vibrations anymore. It is just home. We like the neighborhood even with the dust and the noise because we know all the other shopkeepers around the crossing.
