Kay Aar Impex (India)

We are located at 264 Defence Colony in Jalandhar, Punjab. It’s a decent area, a bit quieter than the main markets. We handle impex stuff, which mostly means we deal with goods coming in and going out. It sounds more complicated than it is. Mostly, it’s a lot of phone calls and checking boxes. We have a small storage space where we keep things before they move on. Jalandhar is a big hub for trade, so there is always something moving. Our office is simple. We have a couple of desks, a computer that’s a bit slow, and a lot of paper. We don't have a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably find one of us drinking tea and looking at a shipping manifest. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Punjab. We just want to do our job and go home to our families. Some days the paperwork is a headache, especially with the customs rules always changing. But we've learned how to navigate it over the years. We deal with people from all over. It’s interesting to see what's in demand. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar and a list of things to do. That’s enough for us to keep things running. If there is a delay at the port, we have to call everyone. That's the worst part of the job, but it is what it is. We stay here until the work is finished and the trucks are gone.
