Kastek (India)

Our place, Kastek (India), is located right on G. T. Road. If you find the Deaf & Dumb School, you are pretty much there. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of dust and the sound of trucks passing by. The building is a bit grey and has seen better days, but it serves us well. Inside, we handle a lot of different things throughout the day. There is no real routine, just whatever needs to be done. We have a few machines that have been running for years and they still do the job just fine. Sometimes they need a bit of a kick to get started in the mornings when it’s cold. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. Most people find us because they saw the sign while stuck in traffic or a friend told them we were here. We spend a lot of time on our feet. The floors are concrete and can be hard on the knees after a long shift. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours. We know the neighbors and they know us. Every now and then, the power goes out and we just sit outside until it comes back on. That's just life on G. T. Road. It isn't perfect, but it’s what we do. It keeps us busy enough most of the time.
