Shri Bala Ji Steel & Plywood Company

Located at S 104 in the industrial area, this is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always the sound of machines or forklifts moving around somewhere close by. Our space is filled with stacks of plywood and different steel sections that we have to keep organized so we don't lose track of what we have. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when a new shipment comes in and we have to find a spot for everything. The air usually smells like sawdust and metal, which you get used to after a few days. We have a small office corner where the bills get sorted, but most of the time we are out on the floor. It’s not the cleanest place because of all the wood dust, but we try to sweep up when we can. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a breather and talk about what needs to be loaded onto the next truck. We’ve been at this spot for a bit, and we know most of the guys in the neighboring units. If it’s a hot day, the metal roof makes things pretty warm inside, so we keep the big doors open for some air. It’s just a regular workplace where we get the job done and try to keep things simple for everyone involved in the daily grind.
