Out here in Phase III of the Sansarpur Terrace industrial area, things are a bit spread out. We occupy the space from 168 to 179, so it’s a fairly large plot for our furnace work. It’s a long drive for some of the workers, but the air is a bit clearer out this way than in the middle of the city. We spend most of our time building and fixing industrial furnaces. It’s heavy work and involves a lot of welding and assembly. The floor is usually covered in tools and parts that we’re currently putting together. Sometimes we have to wait a week for parts to arrive because we’re a bit far out, but we manage to keep the schedule moving. The office is just a small room at the front where we keep the ledgers and answer the phone when it rings. We don’t have any fancy marketing people; it’s just us doing the daily grind. Usually, someone brings in tea around mid-morning and we take a short break near the main gate. The noise from the machines can get pretty loud, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other. It’s not a glamorous job, but furnaces are necessary for so many other businesses to run. We’ve been at this for years and know the ins and outs of the machinery. It’s just a regular day-to-day business for us and we like it that way.
