Gammon India Ltd

We are based out by the Beas Bridge in Naushrapttan. It is a small village near Mukerian in the Hoshiarpur district. Working here means we see the river every single day of the week. The site office is pretty basic, just some desks and a lot of maps and blueprints lying around in stacks. It gets quite dusty when the wind picks up across the Punjab plains and blows through the door. We spend most of our time out on the bridge or near the water checking on progress. It’s not an easy job, especially when the weather gets extreme or the rains start, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t complain much anymore. People in the village know us by now since we’ve been around for a bit. We mostly just focus on the engineering side of things and making sure the structure holds up like it’s supposed to. There isn't any fancy lobby or reception area here to speak of. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in our work boots with a cup of chai in hand. The bridge is the main thing we care about. Everything else is secondary to getting the concrete poured and the steel set right. It is a quiet life out here compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty of work to do. We just keep our heads down and get on with it.
