Our location is 676, Phase I, Urban Estate in Jalandhar. This is where Federal Express Corporation runs its local operations. Urban Estate is a decent area with a mix of houses and businesses. The office is a simple setup with a counter for customers and a larger area in the back for sorting packages. It is usually quite dusty outside, so we are always wiping down the counter. Jalandhar has some very hot days, so the air conditioning is always running, even if it struggles to keep up sometimes. We have a small team of drivers and office staff. Everyone knows their job and we don't need much supervision. We handle a lot of international and domestic mail. It is interesting to see what people are sending and where it is going. The trucks arrive in the early hours and that is when the real work starts. We have some old wooden chairs in the waiting area for people who are filling out forms. The floor is made of plain tiles that have seen better days. It is not a place for showing off; it is just a place for logistics. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We just focus on the boxes and the paperwork. It is a steady life and we are used to the pace of Phase I.
