Kochar Market is a busy place to be, especially being so close to the bus stand in New Model Town. Our shop at Plot 166/1 is right in the middle of all that movement. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all day long, and the air is always thick with the sound of people rushing. We deal in spares, so the shop is basically one big library of car and truck parts. We have bins full of gaskets and racks of headlamps. It’s a bit of a maze back there. If someone comes in looking for something rare, we might have to dig for twenty minutes to find it. The counter is usually covered in catalogs and grease-stained slips of paper. We have a small bench where customers can sit if they’re waiting for us to pull a part from the back. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, where we know most of the local mechanics who come in every morning. We get a lot of dust from the road because of all the traffic, so we’re constantly wiping down the display glass. It’s a constant cycle of ordering new stock and handing out what we have. We don't have a lot of free time, but we always find a moment for a quick glass of tea between customers. The lights stay on until the last bus leaves the stand, and then we finally call it a day and head back.
