Darbar Feed Mills

Our mill, Darbar Feed Mills, is located at No. 86 right near Nehru Garden. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows the garden. We’re also directly opposite the Government Book Depot, which sees a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. Working in the feed business means there is always a bit of a mess. Bags of grain and feed are stacked up, and there’s usually some dust in the air. We don't mind it much. We spend our time talking to the farmers and the drivers who come in to load up their trucks. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and our backs definitely feel it by the end of the week. We have a small area in the front where we keep the books and sit for a minute to have some tea. The view of the garden is nice when the trees are green. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just focus on giving people what they need for their livestock. Sometimes the scale acts up and we have to tinker with it, or a shipment arrives late and we have to scramble. It’s a simple, local business. We’ve been in this spot for years and we know the rhythms of the street. It’s not a polished corporate office, just a working mill where we try to do right by the people who come in. There isn't much more to it than that, really.
