Chanan Ram Sampla Memorial Hospital

Chanan Nagar is where you’ll find us, specifically in Sofi Pind. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the whole name, Chanan Ram Sampla Memorial Hospital, but that’s what is written on the board outside. We are out here in the Jalandhar area, near Kukar Pind. If you are heading toward Hathi Gate, you are going the right way. The road can get a bit dusty when the trucks go by, especially in the dry months. It’s a local landmark for people living around Sofi Pind and Kukar Pind. The gate is easy to spot once you get close. We’ve been sitting here for a good while now. The building is solid, nothing too modern, just bricks and concrete that have seen a lot of weather over the years. Inside, it’s mostly quiet except for the sound of people talking or the occasional motorbike revving outside. Jalandhar has a lot of movement, but things feel a bit more steady once you get into Chanan Nagar. The name is long, but most folks just call it the hospital near Hathi Gate. There’s a small tea stall not too far off where the drivers usually wait for their passengers. You get used to the sounds of the neighborhood after a while. It isn't a place that tries to look like something it isn't. It’s just a building in a busy part of town where people come when they need to. It works for us.
