Anand Legguard Works

You can find us in Basti Nau, right behind Jhandian Wala Peer. It’s a bit tucked away, but once you’re near the shrine, you’ll hear the noise from our workshop. Anand Legguard Works is where we spend our days cutting material and sewing. It’s a hands-on kind of place. There’s scraps of padding and fabric all over the floor by the end of the shift. We make legguards and other protective gear, mostly for local sports. It’s not a clean job, and the machines can be quite loud when everyone is working at once. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and most people in the neighborhood know where we are. The air smells like rubber and industrial glue sometimes. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going as much as possible. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. People just come to the back where we work. We focus on making things that actually hold up when people use them. It’s a lot of repetitive work, stitch after stitch, but you get used to it. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to stop everything, which is frustrating. But usually, we’re just busy making sure the orders are ready on time. It’s hard work, but it’s what pays the bills and keeps the shop running. Basti Nau is a busy place, and we’re just part of the daily noise.
