Shanti Devi Foods

Shanti Devi Foods is located right on Jajapur Road. It’s a good spot because of all the traffic that passes through. We started this because we know food and we wanted to build something of our own. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a plain front with a heavy door. Inside, we are always busy. There’s usually the sound of something being weighed or packed. We keep it as clean as we can, but it’s a working kitchen and storage area, so it’s never perfect. We get a lot of truck drivers stopping by because we are on the main road. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon and makes it really warm, so we keep the fans going. I handle the money and the orders while the others deal with the actual food prep. We named it Shanti Devi after my mother, so we try to do things the right way. We don't have a big marketing budget. We just rely on the fact that people like what we make and they tell their friends. Sometimes we run out of stock sooner than we expected, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a bit frustrating but that’s how it goes sometimes. We’re just regular people working hard on Jajapur Road every day to keep things running properly.
