Bishal Engg C/O -Vedanta Alumina Ltd

We are located in Patsara, which is near Jaankoti in the Jagatsinghpur district of Orissa. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren’t from the area. We work closely with the Vedanta Alumina site nearby. Our days are mostly filled with engineering tasks and making sure everything is running the way it should be on the ground. It’s a rural part of the state, so things move at a different pace than the big cities. We deal with a lot of heavy machinery and technical stuff, so there’s always grease on someone’s hands. The office is simple, just what we need to keep the logs and schedules in order. We get a lot of rain during the monsoon season, which can slow things down, but we just work around it. The local guys here are hardworking and we’ve become a tight group over the years. We eat our meals together and talk about the projects we’re currently handling. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important work for this region. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. Being in Jagatsinghpur means we are far from the main hubs, so we have to be resourceful. If something breaks, we usually have to fix it ourselves. That’s just life out here in Patsara. We don’t put on any acts. We just do the engineering work that’s expected of us and go home. That's how we manage to keep things going smoothly.
