Tata Steel Medica Hospital

This hospital is out in the Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, specifically in the Gobarghati and Madhuban area. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, away from the main towns. The landscape is mostly red earth and big factory structures. We deal with a lot of people from the nearby villages and workers from the steel plants. The building itself is fairly modern compared to some of the older places, but the dust from the industrial area settles on everything pretty quickly. We spend a lot of time cleaning the windows. It gets very hot out here during the summer, and the wind kicks up the grit from the roads. Our team lives nearby in the company housing mostly, so we are a tight-knit group. We see the same faces at the local markets in Madhuban. It is a quiet life outside of the hospital hours. Inside, we are kept busy with all sorts of cases. We have to be self-reliant because we are a bit far from the big city resources. The canteen serves basic food, mostly rice and dal, which is what most of us eat for lunch every day. It is a practical place meant to serve the people working in the industries around us. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing without making any big fuss about it.
