Integrated Steel Plant,Maithan Ispatlimited,Jajpur

My name is Gouri Sankar Rana and I work at the site in Ranipada. This is for Integrated Steel Plant, Maithan Ispatlimited in Jajpur. It’s a busy place out here in Orissa, specifically the 755019 area. I spend most of my time at the plant or at the local office in town. The steel business is tough work. There is always noise and heat. We deal with a lot of different people every day. It’s not a clean office job. My clothes usually have some dust on them by the end of the shift. We’ve been part of this community for a while. Jajpur is a place where people work hard. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s a factory environment. We make things. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them fast. Other days things run smooth. I’ve lived in this district most of my life. It’s home. The steel plant is a big part of why this area stays busy. We don't have time for fancy talk. We just get the steel moved and the orders filled. It’s a lot of logistics and physical labor. If you come by Ranipada, you'll see what I mean. It’s just a group of us trying to keep the plant running right. We do our best to stay on schedule.
