Nirmal Collection & Handicrafts

If you walk through the Jindani Chowki Main Market, you’ll find us right near the old Fort. It’s a great spot because there are always people walking by, especially tourists and locals looking for something unique. Nirmal Collection & Handicrafts is our little shop, and it’s usually packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things. We have piles of textiles and shelves full of handmade items that we’ve collected or made ourselves over time. It’s a bit cramped inside, to be honest. You have to watch your step so you don’t knock anything over. The walls are covered in colorful fabrics and the smell of wood and old paper is always there. My family has been doing this for a long time. We know where the best materials come from and we try to stock things that you won't find in the big city malls. It gets really busy during festival times, and the noise from the market outside is constant. We sit on the floor mostly while we work on new pieces or talk to customers. There’s no air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that rattles a bit. We don’t have a website or a fancy catalog. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come down to the market and look through the stacks. It’s more fun that way, and you might find something you weren’t even looking for.
